Premier Gear started out in 1988 as a machine shop located in Anaheim, California. Its founder, Bill Murphy, had the idea that a manufacturer with a niche specialty - full-service, precision machining combined with state-of-the-art gear cutting - would have a decided advantage in the marketplace. This insight led to the purchase of a gear manufacturing company in 1991, and the beginning of Premier Gear & Machining, Incorporated.

In 1992, after acquiring two more small machine shops, Premier Gear consolidated its operations in Corona, California. With 18,000 square feet and thirty-three employees, Premier Gear was positioned to “raise the bar” and provide a whole new level of quality and service to the manufacturing industry. Bill’s combination of gear cutting, backed by precision machining, proved to be extraordinarily successful. In 1998, Premier Gear relocated to its current facility with 20,000 square feet of modern manufacturing space. In 2007, our core management team of Steve Golden, Huy Nguyen and Steve McIntire purchased the company from Bill Murphy with the goal of expanding our reputation for excellence in all areas of the business.

Today, with thirty-five employees and state-of-the-art equipment, Premier Gear is your complete, one-stop source for top-quality gear manufacturing, precision machining and assembly.
